I need black pants for my job and I want to know if anyone has dyed blue levies to black with ritz dye. I know that boil method is the best but I do not want my levies to srink. Any input here. And please don't tell me to go and buy black levies. I don't need any dumb answers to this question

  1. If you hang them to dry, they won't shrink as much as if you dry them in the dryer.

  2. Your local grocery store or convenience store, like walgreens, riteaid, longs, offers cold water permanent dyes. Use one of those. I believe Rit also carries a cold water dye line. Just be sure to leave the jeans in for a longer than recommended period of time. Use the end of a wooden broom handle or a very thick dowel to move the jeans around and to turn them over for complete saturation. Good luck!

PS: When you prepare to dye, be sure to do so in an area where your jeans can drip dry afterward without damaging the floor surface.
