  1. Yes you can pour straight veggy oil in your car and run it. A lot of people do it. Dumb people. The oil should be heated to a minumum of 160F before it gets to your injectors, and it of course should be very very clean and water free. You can mix straight veggy oil with regular diesel fuel, but it will make your car sluggish unless you live in a very warm climate.

  2. A diesel will burn lube oil . The problem is material in the oil that will stop up your injectors.

  3. No. you can use vegetable oil, but you need two tanks, one for diesel and one for the vegetable oil. you will also have to modify your car.

The reason for this is when that car starts it runs on diesel because it needs to get to the right temperature, once the right temperature is reached and the viscosity of the oil is right, the car can switch over to using just the oil.

At low temperatures the oil has the wrong viscosity. and if it is cold enough could solidify. both of which you dont want in your engine, which is why you need the duel tanks to heat everything up.

  4. Maybe, it depends, some diesel engines can handle SVO (straight vegetable oil) or a blend of diesel and SVO without any problem others can't. I've seen engine (generally older) run happily along, and I've seen them die on the side of the  road with many $$ in repairs, mainly to injectors and pumps.

Bio-diesel is a term that describes vegetable oil that has been processed and can be used as diesel in any diesel that can use ultra low sulfur diesel.

There are kits that will allow you to run SVO, diesel, or a mix, you need to change out injectors and injector pump, and a few other parts, if memory serves me right.

  5. To run straight vegetable oil you will need to heat the tank and the fuel lines to keep the viscosity right. You can use diesel to start the engine with or a small shot of propane.

    OR

You can separate the "solids" from the "fuel" part of the vegetable oil. You can buy these conversions or build one. This way you can pick up the used oils from the restaurants. Most will give it to you and after your investment it will cost you less than $1 a gallon!!! Look it up on Google. Just type in "make your own bio-diesel"!!!!!!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

p.s. You can also add a small propane tank and add a VERY SMALL (only used as an accelerent) amount of propane and you will loose all black smoke because you burn virtually all fuel. Plus mileage goes WAY up.
