  1. If you cannot get a good mix of the fuel and the 2-cycle oil (assuming it's a 2-cycle weed eater), you'll destroy the engine.  Not ruling it out, but I wouldn't try it.

Electric weed eaters are quieter and not stinky.  They eliminate the issue at the source.

  2. You can run anything that runs on gas with ethanol. But for TWO STROKE engines, you'll need to add a lubricant.

  3. I use E85 in mine with no problem at all.

  4. For many years model aircraft have been using weed eater engines on Methanol. With alcohol you can use a glow plug ( no ignition system required) to save weight.(optional)

The alcohol requires a different fuel /air ratio and is a different viscosity to petrol. So it is necessary to fit different metering jets to the carb. The effective octane rating is very high so compression ratio can be increased to 15:1 which is why drag cars use it.

Try searching model aircraft sites and drag racing sites for tips.

  5. I run ethanol in everything from my chainsaw to weedeater.  I also use it in my car, which is not flex fuel.  I have never had any problems at all using ethanol in gasoline powered automobile or appliance.  You'll read all kinds of garbage put out there by the big oil companies that ethanol will corrode your fuel lines, etc.  It's all nonsense.  Ethanol WILL corrode metal parts---over the course of about 200-300 years.  It is a long and slow chemical process.  It is not like metal rusting which occurs over 5 years or more.  It is a much longer and slower process.  So unless you plan on using your weedeater in the year 2308 I wouldn't be too worried.

  6. 2 cycle engine yes

4 cycle engine no it need lubricants that are not in fake gas
