  1. you car will explode

  2. You could put a little in, but if you were to fill it up on nothing but hydrogen it would dry out the seals and heat the engine up too much.  You need a high octane car to try this experiment.

  3. Look up some videos on youtube or something and you'll find many lawnmower engines running on nothing but hydrogen, you'll also find several videos of cars running with hydrogen boosters that claim to increase their mpg by as much as 50%, I don't know if this is for real or what but it's very interesting none the doubt!!

  4. No.

Hydrogen is a gas, like air.  Gasoline is a liquid.  The differences don't stop there.

While it might be possible to run an internal combustion engine on liquid hydrogen, the whole system would need to be designed for extremely high pressures.  It would probably more closely resemble a diesel engine than a gasoline one.

Powering things with hydrogen is usually done with something called a Hydrogen Fuel Cell, which is completely different than the internal combustion engine in your car.  Fuel cells create electricity directly.  Combustion engines burn fuel to move pistons and turn shafts.

There are a few fuels that can be put in some cars without modifying the car.  Some cars are capable of running on pure ethanol without modification, but the car has to be built with that in mind.  If the car can be run this way, it will say so in the manual.  Many diesel engines can run completely on biodiesel, and some can even run on unmodified vegetable oil.

  5. Nope, for hydrogen to flow into your engine it will have to be under lots of pressure or a liquid (very cold) therefor you need a different fuel tank and lines, seals, modifications to a gasoline engine.  A few months ago, I read a story about a guy in the mid-west that added a pressurized hydrogen fuel tank to his diesel powered car and using both fuels at once, doubled the mpg.

  6. first problem, hydrogen is a gas in its normal state, where as gasoline is a liquid, thus the stock tank in your car wont contain the hydrogen for very long.

second problem, hydrogen needs to be stored under high pressure in order to be used as a fuel for an internal combustion engine, and the stock tank is a thin sheet metal that would rupture under pressure.

third problem, the stock fuel system is designed to handle a liquid gasoline, and not a gas like hydrogen.

what is all comes down to is you need to modify your car to use hydrogen as a fuel source. you need high pressure tanks to hold the hydrogen fuel, and you need a propane carburettor to control the fuel mixture going into the engine. can you run an internal combustion engine on hydrogen? sure you can, you just need the right system.

  7. Hydrogen is the most explosive gas there on earth. U may launch your car into space.
