  1. There are a lot of video made available through QuickTime for download. This is why there is a popup message at the upper right hand corner of the video available which says, "Download Now". You will not be allowed to download protected media through QuickTime application. So, to answer the first part of your question, Yes, you can download some video through QuickTime to your hard disk.

However, in response to the second section of your question, the QuickTime file format is very different from the Windows Movie Maker file format.

In order to import QuickTime video into Movie Maker you would need to first convert the QuickTime format to a format that WMM can handle.

There are utilities which convert multimedia files from one format to another. Some are free and others cost money. Which OS version you have installed matters on which applications you can use. Some are compatible with XP but not Vista. So, if you have Vista always be careful to download and install only those applications which will run on Vista.

With that said here is a page with a converter application. It is called SUPER © Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer, and you can download it from Over Clockers:

There are other file conversion applications available, just Google for information or applications. You can also check here for such utilities, though I do not guarantee you will locate what you need:

Good luck and much success with your projects, please have a nice day.
