Can you saw a tobacco pipe?

I recently bought a pipe. However, after buying it (and throwing away the receipt), I decided that the bowl is a bit too tall. Is it possible to cut the bowl with like a table saw or something? Would it crack the bowl if I tried?

Depending on the type of material the pipe is made of Yes.

If wood it will be easy.  

If you do not use power tools often I would recommend a small hand saw.  I have one like a plumber would use for cutting off the bolts that hold down  a toilet bowl to the floor.  Clamp it to a table top and cut slowly.

If you use a table saw just make sure you use the correct type of blade.

Negative, I would not risk cutting the bowl.  Briar is very sensitive and you may crack it.  Plus the finish will be screwed up at the top of the pipe.
