  1. i am nepali, and was born in kathmandu. and no! its too far away. go to annupurna, thats where all the mountains are...

  2. No, you cannot. However, if you are flying to Kathmandu, you can definitely see the ENTIRE Himalayan ranges for the last ~1 hr of your flight. If you are flying from South East Asia (e.g. Bangkok, Singapore, KL), I recommend you get a window seat on the RIGHT of the aircraft and take a good camera on board with you. I can guarantee you, you won't be disappointed! I certainly wasn't when I went there late last year. Also, there are regular "mountain flights" from Kathmandu's international airport that take you high for a half-hour trip during the afternoons and I heard these were fantastic as well. Western China (Tibet) is also a great place but with all the recent political turmoil going on out there, you might be better off visiting Nepal.. Cheers..

  3. It is not possible to see Mt. Everest from Kathmandu city but it can be seen from the hills surrounding Kathmandu valley. One of the hills is Nagarkot located at an altitude of 2200meter (about 30km from Kathmandu city center) from where Mt. Everest can be seen in a clear day. Another nearest place is Dhulikhel, about 30km east of Kathmandu from where you can also see Mt. Everest.

  4. No, You cannot see the Mt. Everest from Kathmanudu, Because Kathmandu is a valley like a suop bowl, Surrounded with small mountains which blocks to see outside the valley. You can go to Pokhara Sarangkot, Resunga to see the mountains..
