Can you see a gravid spot on preggo platys?

I just got 1 male and 2 female platys at petsmart today, there is no gravid spot on the females. I know you can see gravid spots on guppies, but I have never owned platys before, so should I be seeing a gravid spot? When should I move the female into the breeding trap to give birth, I want to raise the fry in another tank.

Yes, you will be able to tell when she is pregnant by seeing the gravid spot and her rounding belly.
