  1. Hi DC!

Friday's eclipse is not visible in Washington.

The partial eclipse could be glimpsed from two parts of the country:  far northern Maine and the north slope of Alaska.  But nowhere else in US territory.

The eclipse occurs between 5:30 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, over Siberia and central China.

Patience, though.  On August 21, 2017 we'll have a coast-to-coast total eclipse of the sun here in the US, one you could see by driving to South Carolina.

  2. Oh and for all you Breaking Dawn Fans

Probably if you have a good view of it

    Before BREAKING DAWN is released

    There will be an ECLIPSE

    Due to the NEW MOON

    At TWILIGHT hours

  3. No. Not even close.

Try actually *reading* the article next time. It says where the eclipse is visible.

  4. NO.  Totality starts in Canada, then heads east across the ocean and comes back in Europe and Asia.

  5. Washington is far down south from where the eclipse (9:20am) starts. So you can't see from Washington.

  6. No, it won't be visible from Washington D.C. The only place in the U.S. which will see a partial eclipse is northern Maine, with a very small partial eclipse at sunrise.

  7. Can you see all the other questions similar to this one with the same answer? No, the total eclipse  will not be visable in the US Anywhwere.

You may be able to see a partial.

The next chance to see a total ecluipse in 2017.
