  1. You can Green Sea Turtles in Tortuguero National Park.  If you truly want to see an impressive sight, then go see the leatherback turtles in the North Pacific, the largest living turtle.

For any other Costa Rica information, try the TicosLand website.

  2. We didn't see any turtles while we were there - but that doesn't mean that they weren't.  If turtles is your primary focus, you should look into Tortuguero - they have major turtle breeding grounds there.  At Manual Antonio we did see:  white face monkeys, 2 toed sloth, 3 toed sloth, agouti, humming birds, tucan, boa, bats and I'm sure more - just can't think of it currently.  There is a large croc population during certain months also (we saw the footprints but choose not to follow).

  3. Manuel Antonio is on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Turtles are usually found on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica so it is very unlikely, although not impossible, that you will see green turtles at Manuel Antonio.

As for my experience, I've been there about 10 times and never seen one.

  4. you can see them in Tortuguero

The Tortuguero National Park is the most important green sea turtle nesting grounds in the Western Caribbean. Heavy annual rainfall make for an abundance of extremely rich flora and fauna in the park, which is made up of a unique system of natural and man-made canals used for transportation and exploration. Admire exceptional flora and fauna including orchids, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, toucans, among others, in their natural habitat. Marine turtles such as the Chelonia Midas (green turtle) emerge from the ocean to lay their eggs in the humid tropical forest from July through September.
