Can you send a package and the receipient pays for the shipping?

I need to send a package to someone but I dont want to be jypped on the shipping. I am considering using Canada post but I was told by a co-worker that I can send the package and the receiver must pay upon delivery. Is this true or cant this be done?

Well, in the US it's called COD (Collect on Delivery)
