Can you send cash in the mail or ups ?

Can and should are two different things.

You can send cash, but if it’s lost you can’t do anything to get your money back. It’s far better to send a check or money order.

In additon to the risk of the money being lost or stolen while in the mail, you will have no way to know if the money was received if the individual  or organization actually gets the money, but claims they didn't.

Yes you can.  If you're determined to send cash, be aware if it's lost or stolen, too bad, so sad.  You're out of luck.

You can make it less likely to be stolen.  Put the cash in a smaller envelope inside of the envelope you're addressing and seal with tape.   Stuff in the addressed envelope and hold it up to the light.  Can you see anything (like the cash)?  If so, fold a sheet or two of paper and wrap money envelope inside.  Do the light test, to be sure no one can see you have cash inside.

Make sure you have enough postage and you've put you're return address on it - but you know that, right?
