Can you seperate elkhorn os staghorn ferns when they are getting to big.What time of year if you can.????????

Yes you can. but I think you have an elk rather than a stag.  Stags dont grow pups (new little plants).  Elks do.  Just separate the new little plant and fix to another board with spagnum moss.  I think winter-Spring is best, but any time will be fine too so long as you keep the water up to it.
