Can you show me an example of an "happening truth" that is manipulated so the experience becomes "truer" (in the Tim O'Brien sense.)?

Rather than  a statement becoming truer, true statements are embellished to illustrate a point or to enliven the story line.

Almost all authors use embellishments to make their own personal experiences or the experiences of others more interesting and/or thought provoking.

However, these stories must be labeled and considered fictional accounts.
