  1. Look, the best way to defend yourself if you're not going to train is to barrel through the weakest point when surrounded and run like h**l. Videos tend to give you something to mimic, but nothing to correct you. You need feedback.

If you're set on doing it your way (and I strongly advise you not to), visit http://www.budovideos.com/ and find something there. Find a patient partner and practice. Examine what ifs and try to find effective ways out. It won't be good, but it's something.

  2. Mark Hatmaker's  --  "Escape From Impossible Holds"

Mike Serr's  --  Barroom Fight Tactics

    Dr. V's  --  Street Safe

  3. videos? try return of the jedi...use the force...@home

  4. Watch the MMA fights on Spike TV, or tru YouTube

  5. If your really want to learn self defense go to a school because a video will show you incorrect postures and only a real life instructor can show you how to do them properly.

  6. Go to the GracieAcademy.com instructional videos section. These videos are specifically designed to show the technique and show you what to do/not do in those situations.

The Gracie family taught the US Army how to do combatives using Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. You can find some more videos of the same thing on youtube.
