  1. College is quite a bit different from high school.  The schedules will differ for each person, depending on which courses s/he enrolls in, but many things are the same at each university such as the usual maximum

number of semester credit hours that a student can enroll in is 18 or about 6-7 classes.  However, many students will only enroll in 15 semester credits which is equivalent to about 5 classes, and some will only enroll in 12 credits which is about 4 classes and the bare minimum number of credits to be considered full time.  Most classes will only meet 2 or 3 times a week for about 50-75 minutes.  Below is a copy of one of my semester schedules:

    M=Monday, T=Tuesday, W=Wednesday, H=Thursday, F=Friday

    Counseling Theory and Practice 9:00 - 9:50 M, W, F  3credits

    Counseling Theory and Practice Lab 10:00 - 10:50 M  1credit

    Intermediate Inferential Statistics 2:00 - 2:50 M, W, F  3credits

    Lifelong Health and Fitness 8:00 - 8:50 T&H  T&H 1credit

    Professional & Scientific Ethics in Psychology  9:30 - 10:45 T&H  3credits

    Advanced Analytical and Rhetorical Writing 1:00 - 1:50  2credits

Calculus and Analytic Geometry online course 3credits

                                                                                                        16 total credits.

  2. My schedule for the fall is:

English lit 204 Tue, Thur 2:30-4

    Social Work 215: Tue 7-10

I'm part time this semester because my daughter is due 10/10.   Most people do 12-15 credits a semester. I'm doing 6.

  4. A full-time student generally takes between 12 and 18 hours, with 15 being the average.  The majority of classes are 3 credit hours, so 15 hours would be 5 classes.  You can arrange your schedule in any combination of Monday through Friday with some universities including Saturday options.  I personally enjoy scheduling my classes for Mondays - Thursdays only so I can enjoy a longer weekend.  If you want to work part-time or full-time, it may be better for you to arrange all of your classes on MWF or TR (R = Thursday).  The classes, class sizes, and work load are all dependent upon what school you attend.  I'm a junior at a state school.  Classes within my major are anywhere from 10 to 50 students.  General Education classes range from 50 to 200 students.  I have friends at private institutions that have much smaller classes, but much heavier work loads or required religious classes.

The best way to find out what life is like at the college you want to go to is to take a tour or talk to someone who is already there.  If you're going to ask on here, you might want to specify the school or at least the time of schools (A large state school with 30,000 + students or a private school with 3000 students, etc etc).

All that said, my classes for fall are:

    Persuasion

    Promotion

    Advertising Copywriting

    Public Relations Publications

Seminar in Journalism: Media and the Middle East

    Media Design and Visual Language
