Can you smoke wild lettuce leaf?

hey, i was wondering about buying an ounce of "wild lettuce opium", but i dont want to make tea out of it nor do i want to make an extract, i was just wondering if you can smoke it strait from leaf in a water pipe, and if so , is there any amount of overdosing?
