  1. Yes, you can spay a cat that is still nursing, but it is uncomfortable for the cat and can actually prolong the healing process.  I respect the previous answer about neutering her before she gets pregnant again, so if you can't control her and her 'access', it is a worthwhile endeavour.  But if you have her confined, securely, I would recommend letting her finish nursing and let the swelling reduce to her mammary glands.

Your veterinarian can give you the best recommendation.

  2. ABSOLUTELY..........and the mama will still be able to nurse her babies!

I raised cats for 14+yrs, and my Himalayan was spayed when her kittens were 3 wks old.  She nursed them after that for another 2-3 wks, without any problems,

My Siamese mama was spayed when her last litter was 4 wks old, and she nursed them after that, too.

So..............call your vet and ask him/her when he/she will be willing to do it!  Cats CAN come into heat again while the kittens are nursing, so you've the right idea, about getting the spaying done BEFORE that happens!

    Good luck.................

  6. I had to bring my cat to Tuft's for medical reasons. They spayed her just a couple hours after she had the kittens.
