Can you stand at the bottom of Angel Falls in Venezuela without getting killed?

its the highest waterfall in the world, but i heard that the wind/air resistance turns the water into a sort of mist. so is it ok to just walk into the bottom or will the water kill you?

I've been to Angel Falls twice. You can walk in the base, there's a creek in the bottom and it's quite an enjoyable experience.
