  1. If by dead flowers you mean the actual plant with roots, then yes. I know it looks dead and you might be tempted to throw it away, but if you plant it in the ground, it will come back to life in the fall and spring.


  2. I'm not sure about that but I've found that using cutting works even better that starting plants from seeds.  Just cut off some of the tips (about two inches) and remove the leaves at the end and put the cutting in water.  After a few weeks they should have roots and then you can plant them in potting soil until they have well established roots.  It works better than seed germination because you start out with a sturdy plant rather than a sensitive seedling.
