  1. No, nyet, nope.  Take your pick.

  2. no they steer using directional thrust, if you are not pushing water out the back you cannot turn

  3. NO, NO, & NO

  4. bruce is right about them being the only ones making their pwc with the extra "rudder assists",,but they make em for ANY pwc,,all ya gotta do is s***w em on,,,but they dont give you "steering" they just assist the turning,,and it will help ta turn ya  butt in the direction,,but for real steering,,,no

them "assists" also make it so you cant turn as fast as usual,,,well not as SHARP of a turn,,,in fact thats why they were made in the first place,,,to keep people from turning too sharp and giving themselves whiplash,,,,the design started out on jet boats,,,pwc's are jus catching up hehe

  5. Many of the newer ones have "off throttle "steering. They developed that because people were crashing to much as they tried to slow down in tight areas and did not realize they needed to goose it to steer. But the for the most part, no you can not ster with any degree of accuracy.

  6. PWC's steer from the thrust of the "jet" propulsion to maneuver.

SeaDoo is the ONLY make with steering "flaps" giving minimal steering capability with no power.

  7. Why not? a personal watercraft is really nothing more than a motorcycle on water. By the way, it took a few seconds to figure out what a pwc was. Why not just spell it out?

  8. If it's idling it will steer very slowly. If it's not running it will steer somewhat, but maybe not enough for the situation.

A PWC has a jet drive for propulsion, without propulsion, you only have what little rudder steering the drive itself gives you, which isn't much.

  9. On many of the older models if you were not on the gas you were not pushing water through the jet and thrust was the PWC steering. Water thrust to port in the stern would turn the bow to port, and water thrust to starboard in the stern would turn the bow to starboard. No thrust, no turn.

On some of the newer models they have added a rudder contraption, so even if you aren't on the gas turning the handlebars will turn the rudder.

  10. You can buy an after market skeg that'll mount on the discharge. It'll help ya steer when off throttle. =^ )
