Can you still access your Xbox Guide functions while playing an Xbox Originals game?

Question

I was thinking about buying Jade Empire or something else but I don't want to if it disables my guide button. I play all my games with my music streaming.

Any help guys?

when u play an original game and open the guide, it will say that the xbox guide is not supported on this game and will only give u the option to shut down the console

ya there is no guide with XBOX originals.
