Can you still be employed without volunteer experience ?

My son is planning to get a job at Wal-mart this summer but he doesn't have volunteer experience. Would employers still hire him, even if he has not volunteered yet but has enough references ?

He does not need it espcially at Wal Mart....its good to get some community service/volunteer stuff logged for colleges....they do look at that

yes, community service/ volunteering is not a prerequistie of being hired
