Can you still be on your parents insurance if you are in school online full time?

Will it count the same as you being in school full time on campus?

  1. The carriers usually have a certain number of credit hours that determines if you are full time. To be safe contact the insurance company and ask them. If you just assume you are covered and then have a medical issue you could find out too late that you did not qualify.

The school would have to be an accredited school, and your parents policy would have to state that it allows a child to remain on the policy as long as they are a full-time student.  The insurance company usually ask for the insured to get verification from the school that they are attending stating that the student is full-time.

  3. Yes as  long as your parents pay the premium and you are still a minor or a full time student under 21 or 25. It really depends on the policy and is this health insurance?
