  1. Yes, you can convert. You are who you think you are. Love is more important in the long run than any labels.

  2. You can be whatever you want to be ;)

  3. For all the people that gave Lone Wayfarer a thumbs up, he gave a horribly bad and erroneous answer. Judaism is a culture, religion and a way of life. IT IS NOT A RACE OR ETHNICITY. This has been answered over and over again by every single Jew that participates on this site. Your getting it wrong is getting old.

If you were born into another religion, you could convert to Judaism. It is a process that takes between one and two years of study ending with a Beth Din ( a rabbinic court).

However once you have converted, you would be considered just as Jewish as someone that could trace their Jewish roots back 4000 years. You would never be referred to as a convert. You would be Jewish. Period.

Note to Truth Chick:  With all respect, your husbands families attitude is a reflection of their own arrogance, and is in direct contradiction to Jewish teachings.

While individual Jews may express their own opinions, rightly or wrongly,  you will never meet a rabbi that feels or expresses the view that one of their converts that has gone through a conversion process that they recognize is any less Jewish than any of their other congregants that were born of a Jewish mother.

  4. Yes. I am a Jew - I was drafted in through Jesus Christ.

He taught the Jews first then the Greek (Gentiles). Whoever will come to Him-He will give eternal life.

  5. Yes, you can become Jewish.  Be advised, however, this is a long complicated process involving a lot of study.  Jewish folks don't seek converts like Christians.  You REALLY have to convince them you are serious and really want to be Jewish.  They definately don't throw a net over your head and induct you.

  6. Judaism was called a RACE first came from Hitler's mouth.

The U.S. adopted this idea of using US as allies, Israel is no struggling with powers of the US to save its people and create a buffer zone is also possibly what is really going on.

Judaism is a faith not a race, politics would like to defer since banks see a stable economy from war.

  7. ALL have the same blood as all, coming out of the first man Adam pasted on by Noah and his sons.To be jewish is one that never mixes blood with other tribes.

  8. In short Yes!

Judaism is a religion and jews are NOT a race.

there are ONLY 5 races of people in the world and not more than that.

African, Indian, Asian, Caucasian (white) and Latino.

Everything else is Tribal or what is known better today in modern civilized words as Nationalities.

You can always convert from your religion to the one you may desire but you should make sure first that it is what you really want.

Every religion has slightly different ways to worship as well as beliefs so do look into it before hand to make sure you will be comfortable.

"Jewish Blood" is just a way of living, you can have "Catholic Blood" the same way if you so choose to live the way that Catholicism is meant to. Reference to blood is mainly a reference to a way of living or culture and rarely not much more.

  9. Yes, You can convert just like any other religion. I know a Puerto Rican guy Who converted to Jewish to marry his girlfriend.

  10. YES. Conversion, same as other religions.

  11. Barrel Bottom: First of all, you are wrong.  My husband is a Jew from Israel and his entire family and everyone else there will tell you that.   It is really not that big of a deal but, converting to Judaism is like converting to be a cherokee indian.  They may accept you, but you will always be the "white honorary indian" and not of their blood.

  12. Yes. But why would you want to?

  13. Jewish as in faith

but not Jewish as in ethnicity

  16. Yes. Being Jewish is a religion.

  17. Yes. Judaism is a religion, not an ethnicity or nationality. Sammy Davis Jr. is a perfect example. He was a famous African American man who converted to Judaism.
