Pinex is unfortunately no longer available but we have noticed that the German liquer "Jaegermeister" has a very similar flavor.

You could probably mix up a batch similar, though I don't know about the pine tar, perhaps a couple drops of turpentine mixed into honey could be substituted.

(a spoonful of turpentine was sometimes used as a cough medicine according to my dad, but then his tonsils were removed w/o the benefit of any anestetic.)  please don't go drinking any turpentine though.

  3. Pinex cough syrup is no longer available in the market. I guess its not even manufactured any more. Though many people are in search of this syrup as is evident from the online searches,  but no stores seem to carry it anymore and the manufacturer does not list it.

  4. PINEX, USED THIS COUGH SYRUP DURING MY INFANT YEARS THROUGH MY TEENS, CAN THIS MIX IT YOURSELF COUGH SYRUP STILL BE PURCHASED? IF SO WHERE, AS OTHERS ASKED WHO WAS THE MANUFACTURER?

  5. I grew up in Huntington WVA and used Pinex for my broncitis, and it worked! as an adult I live in Ohio and no one has ever heard of this, can't ask my family as they are all deceased if any one knows where this could be purchased I would love to get some.

  6. I wish I knew where to buy it. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and used it as a child and it always worked. With the dry desert air, when you get a cough it stays with you.

  7. im looking to buy the brand pinex cough syrup can i still buy it  and where

  8. I was just disussing this with my 84 yr old Mother. Does Pinex still exist? If so where and who was the manufacture of it. According to my mother it came in a concentrated form and was mixed with a bottle of Karo dark syrup, shook up and taken. We used it every winter in Kansas where the winters were cold and long. Never went to the Dr., just took our dose of Pinex and we were fine. Wish I could find some.
