Can you still eat trout?

me and my dad were fishing yesterday and caught a rainbow trout and threw it back because he said it was no good can i eat any trout i catch for the rest of the summer

  1. Since most trout habitat is clear, cool water, why would you suspect a problem with edibility?


  2. IT should be perfectly fine to eat. He probably threw it back because it was too small.  It could also be a lack of trout population in the lake you were fishing and the locals have forbidden keeping any rainbows.

  3. My opinion, it depends on where you live, in the high country lakes where I fish it would be OK, but fish taken in lower algae filled lakes would probably not taste too good this time of year.

  4. the only trout problem ive had was-

    me and my freind were fishing and caught a large sunfish and a 10in trout we decided to start a fire and cook the 2 fish  the sunfish was perfict but when we gutted the trout its meat and blood were green : P yuck
