My boyfriend has a criminal record from like 10 years ago and does not have a pardon. He said he can go anywhere that is not a British colony. I know alot of people who have gone to Mexico and th Dominican with no problems. But just lately my boyfriend said he heard on the radio that just flying over the states and not landing there you would have to go through US customs and so he would not be permitted to fly to Mexico. Does anyone know if this is true?

  1. Do you mean from Canada to Mexico?  Flying over the USA without a pardon is risky.  Even if you do make it without having any kind of customs check, you may have to make an emergency landing or something like it, and then your BF will end up going directly to jail and believe me, it will really suck.  Not worth the risk.

  2. Simply answer, he has a passport, he can fly to Mexico. US is not British and either is Mexico.

Relax and have a great trip)

  3. Unless he's currently wanted by the Interpol because he's a big name narco or a serial killer and child rapist they aren't even going to know and much less care when he comes here (unless his face shows he's all nervous and then at best he may enter wafter giving the people at customs a juicy bribe). The USA doesn't have a shared criminal records database with Mexico for now (with what budget when the country has more important things to worry about?).

If he's travelling in the US in a connection flight before going to Mexico (like Kansas City to Houston - Mexico), there's no customs because it's a local flight. It's like he was travelling in a bus, they wouldn't check him unless he started to act violent or something suspicious.

US customs could find something in their database when his passport passes under the machine when he comes back, but if he's not wanted for anything they won't arrest him.

  4. He can definetly fly to Mexico .  when he returns to the states he will go thru customs for the purpose of declaring anything he purchased in Mexico, but not for a crimminal check.  there will be no problem.  He probably would be denied entrance to Canada...but not Mexico.

  5. Why U.S customs are U.S customs not mexico's customs. If you land in the U.S you go through our customs. If he has a passport already he should be fine unless hes wanted  internationaly And it comes up on your countries Customs when you go back to your country. It would help to say what country your in also.

  6. yes, you can, as long as you have a passport
