you can get a tan whether it's sunny or cloudy..but make sure you but on the sunscreen..because you can get a nasty sun burn when it's cloudy because the sun harmful rays penetrate cloud cover.

One tans from the sun's ultra violet rays which can easily penetrate cloudy weather.

Yep, the UV rays go right through the clouds... Clouds are pretty soft you know(:

(Hey, just for the tip, whenever your at the beach or at the pool, you get tanner when your in the water! The sun's rays get reflected off the water and they go straight up to you! I know, it's awesome!)

YES i went to the beach once and it was kinda cold and overcast all day and i got the worst burn i have ever gotten. sue sunblock still

Not only tanned, but you can burn.  UV rays penetrate the clouds easily.

Apply a sunscreen about 30 minutes before going out, even if it's overcast. (Harmful rays can penetrate cloud cover.) Don't forget to protect your lips, hands, ears, and the back of your neck. Reapply as necessary after swimming or perspiring heavily.

If you insist upon getting a tan, do so very gradually. Start with 15 minutes' exposure and increase it only a few minutes at a time.
