Can you still make money recycling aliminium cans??

i live in Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom and can you still get money like recycling things i know years ago it was like 1p per can ???

"make money" I don't know, but maybe buy beer...some people spend all day doing this however and so it must afford them a lifestyle they are comfortable living with, or else they would come up with an alternative.

In Aus it is somthing like $10 per KG

Where I live they give you like 90 cents per pound that you bring in.
