Can you stop loving someone if you start dating somebody else? ?

Your body can be with another person but you heart can be in another place. Meaning you can date someone else but your heart can still be with you ex. It takes time for a heart to heal. My husband was hurt really bad by his ex. For the first three months we were dating I didn't feel any emotions from him. I knew he was still in love and hurting over his ex. After we dated for more time and trust was established. He was able to start to move on. I wouldn't say that you will always love that person......But I would say you will always care about that person. Once someone has touched your heart they are never forgotten.

That's how it works sometimes.

If it's true love, it would be reciprocated and the two of you would work things out or whatever.  But if it's unrequited, if it's impossible, if it's just an annoyance, yeah, move on.  

You'll probably realize it wasn't love at all.

To stop loving someone is getting on with your life  - not getting on with another relationship!! That's called a rebound relationship, btw.

Yerrr , I would say that if you still have feelings whom ever it is then give it about a week or two and see if you can actually stop loving someone else , i don't think its a question you should be asking people because everybody have different ways and feelings as to which way they would deal with it so just try and find if you truly can stop loving them and begin to love someone else.

If you love someone and start dating someone else is because that person you love is not reciprocating your love. Typically love is a 2 way street. You are trying to satisfy your love but the next person may not make you forget. Eventually someone will captivate your heart and be worthy of it. Take Care
