  1. As long as it hasn't made it to your bank yet.

  2. As long as it hadn't made it to your bank yet, you should be able to stop it.  The bank will charge you a fee to stop the check, so be prepared to pay that as well.  Usually, there is a one day time frame from the time it hits the bank of the person who cashed the check until it hits yours looking for the funds to clear the check.

  3. i belive you can call you bank and request to stop payment on that particular check a soon as possible it may cost you  like 25 o cer0  dolar depends on your bank

  4. I had this same problem once and tried to call and stop payment but couldn't reach them after hours. I ran to the bank the next day to correct the problem. I told them of my mistake and they were very helpful. They told me if the check had not cleared yet I didn't need to stop payment and pay a fee, but just have the check voided (sorry I can't remember the exact term they used). Ask them if you can cancel the check first without stopping payment ( and avoid the stop payment fee). There's a term for it I just forgot what they called it. In any case if the check hasn't cleared ask what options you have and they may give you this option which I'm sorry I just don't remember what term they used, but whatever they did I didn't have to stop payment and pay a fee they just did someting to negate the check. Hope you make it on time.
