  1. No! because they are different in size structure and therefore would not fit.

  2. no...size matters

  3. Because they are two entirely different sizes?

You might as well put a size 18 woman in a pair of size 8 jeans.

    won't work.

  4. If you can get the connections made the radio should operate just fine.  The voltages are the same.

  5. Only if you have a way to bridge the gap left by C batteries (which are smaller than D batteries,) and they won't last as long.

  6. if they fit properly you can use them.  they are the same voltage.  only difference is the size. larger the battery the longer it will last

  7. your radio is designed to run on a certain amp-age.  If you substitute the batteries it may work for a while but will damage it or the batteries eventually

  8. well they have different voltages so it could fry whatever you are using it in.

  9. If you can accomodate the size difference you can substitute a D cell for a C cell.  There would be no issue.  If you are putting in the D cell in place of a C cell as written in your quesiton, the battery will last longer.  If you're putting the smaller battery in place of the bigger one, it won't last as long but there won't be any other issues.
