Question:

Can you sue the oil companies?

Oil prices are way down from what they were before. It took weeks for the pump to reflect that. Then, in one afternoon, the price jumped $.20. Next day, the oil went back down but the price at the pump stays the same. If that isn't gas gouging, I don't know what is. People sue for everything under the sun. Seems like the American people should be able to do the same.

  1. id love to sue them, but how gas prices went up is what they normally do during summer. its when people go on vacation, they will probably bounce back up for labor day weekend.

  2. They are bigger than you and can afford better lawyers. One of the effective ways you can get them is what the Nigerians do. Go to an offshore oil rig and kidnap a few of their workers and hold them for ransom. They pay up.

  3. Can you?

They are raking in record profits based on our addiction. It's simple macroeconomics based on supply and demand, and the old saying goes, we are damned if there's a demand.

  4. anyone can sue anyone for anything, good luck.

  5. Of course it takes awhile for pumps to reflect gas prices. The price you pay is for the gas they currently have in the ground. If the gas station bought that gas weeks ago at a higher price, you will be paying based on the price of gas they currently have. When they have cheaper gas in the ground, you will pay the cheaper price.

Sure, you can sue the oil company, but you won't win. You'll just waste a whole lot of the taxpayers' money.
