Can you sue the tow company for damaging your system?

my car got repossessed for 2 days, due to late car payment, when i got there to pick up the car with the release form from the police station, they where trying to hook my system back up, so basically they took my system out without my authority. i was in a rush so i have to tell them just put the rest of my system in the trunk my husband will hook it up cause i have an appointment to catch, later on the day my husband found out that our dvd player is not working, usually the screen comes on every time i turn on the ignition, but never came on ever since i got it back from the towing company, so what should i do ?

Do you have any proof to show that they took the system out? If not then you really dont have a case. If so then talk to a lawyer. Or you could possibly go to wherever you picked up your car and let them know that it was woking fine, but when they took it out they messed it up. If they still wont do anything simply let them know you are talking with a lawyer and they may chabge there minds.
