  1. If you are too embarrassed to work in the public eye, might I suggest working entirely online? That's what I'm doing and the results are quite sensational. Sourced'

  2. Cry foul and discrimination! If you're qualified for a position and they give it to someone else based on outward appearences - sue them. You have every right to.

  3. Call Centre work?  You can be as pretty as you like over the telephone and as you're fat you'll be well-schooled in what not to eat sitting on your backside all day.  Your age will be an advantage as your wisdom will let you understand a wider range of customers.

  4. exubrate (i think thats a word) confidence, act as if you have every reason and right to be there whilst being professional and freindly.

  5. Political correspondent? Sky news anchorman? Taxi driver?  etc, etc.....

  6. A few clues, like, if you are male or female.

    What skills do you have?

    What are your real interests?

    Rural or a Townie?

    Do you have transport?

  7. set up a p**n site giving cam shows

i'm sure people have a kink for  fat ugly 50 year olds

you have to turn a negative into a positive

  8. I don't understand what you being fat or ugly has to do with getting a job. Just go pick up some freaking applications and apply. They're not going to be like "Hmm... You don't get a job because you're UGLY" if you're qualified. Buck up, man.

  9. Paperweight?

But seriously, I know what you mean. My dad left his 30 year job due to bullying and criminal behaviour in his partner at work. He was very depressed about it  and spent the next 8 months applying for jobs and feeling that no one would employ a 50 year old. He got a job with a really nice crowd of people and has been in it for the last 11 years

I suppose my advice would be:

Don't second guess the employers and decide that they'll reject you because they can tell and it makes them less confident about you

Reject all negative thoughts you have about yourself and find a better way to describe what you have. The negative description you gave of yourself is completely irrelevant to an employer ...they only want to hear what you can give them

You don't have to necessarily continue in the career that you've always had. It may be worth considering jobs that are less stressful, less hours even if it's also less pay.

It probably wouldn't hurt your prospects to enroll in further study. It's also good for your happiness to keep learning things

Try not to explode with self loathing and frustration. Just keep applying for everything ...someone will realise that there has been a you shaped hole in their company that needs filling

    Good Luck (c;

  10. B&Q

  11. Deputy Prime Minister??

  12. One thing is the image you have of yourself. The other thing is the images that other individuals have of you. That doesn't matter in terms of getting a job. If you have a good music backgound, painting, drawing, acting etc, you could always teach those skills to other people. If you like writing you could become a writer or a poet. Also you could design or built products/materials and sell them over the internet. You could open your on business (eg a shop). Just think of things you are good at and enjoy doing and then move forward! All the best!
