Open to any ideas bit outside seating would be cool and not too stuffy. Like Itailian and European with maybe a kind of grill/bistro feel to it.

Meeting a friend and want to go above a boring chain restaurant.

Dont want general answers (like go to Regent Street etc) - I'm after specifics please!

Thanks

  1. Any Cornish pasty shoppe, ask for a pork pie and a still water.

  2. TRY either 'Tiger Tiger' in the haymarket or the Aberdeen Angus steakhouse near Trafalgar Sq.

  3. The Rat and Parrot- there are a few in London, its a pub with couches and tables to sit in while you eat.

  4. Where's the English Museum??????

There's a nice Italian restaurant alongside Great Ormond Street Hospital, Ciao Bella I think it's called. The name of the road escapes me but I shall just check a map......

Lamb's Conduit St I think it is. I spent many hours staring out of the window at it when my daughter was in there and decided to grab a bite to eat when she went for an out patient appt.

Good food, outdoor seating and not too busy a road.

Nearest station is probably Russell Sq.

There are other eateries along that road but you said don't be vague so I'll be specific :o)

You could try The Hung Drawn & Quartered at Tower Hill, their food is excellent and there is a bit of outside seating but it gets very busy because of all the nearby main stations.

Lots of nearby stations, Tower Hill, Bank, best to see what line is easiest.

O'Neill's in Great Queen Street is my favourite pub, amazing staff and great value food. Only a couple of tables outside though. It's almost opposite the Freemason Hall. It's pretty close to Holborn station too.

There are a couple of Indian restaurants a door or 2 up from this O'Neill's, one with outside seating I seem to recall.

Without knowing exactly where you'll be, it's hard to recommend somewhere to eat really.

  5. There's a Carluccio's in St Christopher's Place, just off Oxford St.  Guaranteed good food, and a very cosmopolitan, European feel:

Or if you're wanting more of a proper meal, try Hush or Rocket, both in Lancashire Place, near New Bond St:

A bit more pricey (Hush is the most expensive), but really good grub.

    Enjoy!

  6. if you're in Central London and want toescape from the ratrace, Head towards the BT tower just off of Googe Street, and just before you get to it on the left is the Saatchi and Saatchi office, turn left and just up there is a great italian.

But better travel up the northern line to Totteridge and Whetstone and walk down the high road to Al Fresco. it's the best Italian ever.and good value.

  7. If you can travel outside of the centre, try Neal's Lodge in Wandsworth, lovely outside dining, impeccable service, they really care.

  8. go to burgerking

  9. Munchkins, nice pub by the English Museum.

  10. nandos is great!!!

  11. there is a nandos underneath london bridge, (it's actually underneath the bridge) and you can eat outside, and watch the boats go by. it's a nice place to sit.

  12. Why don't you give Wagamama a try, its not Italian or European with a kind of grill/bistro feel to it, but they do excellent food and they aren't expensive
