She is inshaAllah planning to convert to Islam after October.

Her name is Rachel and she was asking me for names.

Is there any rules regarding changing names, or can she just pick any?

  6. Haha! She doesn't have to change her name.

I mean, mashalla that she is converting, but she doesn't have to go that far.  What kind of Islamic justice would there be if you had to give away your name? Anyway, that aside, Rachel is a Biblical name, and since the Bible (or at least parts of it) are kutub, her name is totally acceptable.
