  2. i only heard of like 2 of thos bands but i would say that "three days grace" is good and "avenged sevenfold" is ok. if u like FOB you may like the "red jumpsuit apparatus" or "all american rejects"

  3. MIKA, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Blink 182 just search for ROCK POP/ROCK

  4. Those are all over the place but here goes.

The Cure:  Echo & The Bunnymen

David Bowie:  He's a one of a kind

    Marilyn Manson:  Rammstein

    NiN:  Stabbing Westward

    Oasis:  Beatles, Radiohead, Coldplay

Offspring: Limp Bizkit, Less Than Jake

System of a Down:  Static-X, Linkin Park

  5. panic at the disco, 3 days grace, 3 doors down, blink 182

  6. Avenged Sevenfold or Aiden or Breaking Benjamin, Slipknot, Bullet for my Valentine, Atreyu, Theory of a deadman, Cartel, Chevelle, Coheed and Cambria, Blink 182, DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL

  7. You name some very good artists as well as some unfamiliar to me because I am as old as rock-n-roll. You cannot go wrong with anything below. Trust me on this

In know particular order: (except for the Clash, who earned their spot at the top)

The Clash--Get either the UK (import in USA) release "The Clash" or the triple-record "Sandinista!", the first so as to remember the seventies as the wake for the sixties and the approaching skeletal scariness of Ronald Raygun, and "Sandinista!" for the six sides which distill rock, folk, rap, skiffle, gospel, dub, dance, and ambiance into a rich liquor for the soul. Then get everything else.

The Psychedelic Furs--One of the most under-rated combos ever. Richard Butler knows about words. Word. Some bands know what electric guitars are for, and the Furs sure do. Get the first album, the eponymous one with "India" and "We Love You" and "Imitation of Christ". Since you got that one, you might as well get "Talk Talk Talk" (never to be confused with a band called TalkTalk)--it has a great love song called "Into You Like a Train" plus the widely-overlooked "Colors"--I think that's the name (I can't find my records!)-- "Listen to the weatherman, he's not saying anything..." Apparently Richard and bass-playing brother Tim were kind of weaned on Dylan by their Bobolicious father.

Chuck Berry--Everyone must get some Chuck--He is, you see, THE KING of rock-n-roll, not Elvis, oh-no-no. Elvis was a great singer and dancer, but he didn't write even his OWN songs. No, give it up for Chuck Berry. All the music you and Eye like owes a great debt to Berry, Fats Domino, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley.

Get aBUNCH of ska records!! Have FUN--Specials, Desmond Dekker, Bad Manners, Selecter, the Beat, Madddnesss. Dance a lot

Get "Songs of Love and Hate" by Leonard Cohen--breathe words like air and life and love and fire

You have to get a lot of Bob Dylan. You just have to. Everybody does. Get "Blond on Blond" of course for sure, hear "Sad-eyed Lady of the Lowlands" and "4th Time Around" and "Temporary Like Achilles" and "Visions of Johanna" and everything else except maybe "Obviously Five Believers"<<it's okay if you don't hear that one. And then of course get "Highway 61 Revisited".

Get James Brown's "Twenty Fabulous Hits" or the "Live at the Apollo" album. Dance in Heaven, Godfather

James Brown,The Jam, X, the Buffalo Springfield, Trial by Fury, Tom Waits, Bob Marley, REM, Stones, Ramones, The Who--don't forget the Who, the Doors and on and on...keep your ears peeled--there is always something good coming along....

Plus get a thousand other albums....oh, yeah, get "Blue" by Joni Mitchell. If you don't like it (but you will) donate to a group for young songwriters.

  8. daft punk, cold play, sum 41, blink 182, and one that i love dearly, Blue Man Group! oh and rush has a few good ones too!

  9. theres a new band called tokio hotel, i like their one song "mansoon", look it up...i listened to disturbed, korn (fave songs "freak on the leash") all american rejects, green day, coldplay, linkin park (1st album "hybrid theory" is best for me, "crawling" is my fav song from them), paramore( 2 fav songs are misery business and crushcrushcrush), audioslave (they broke up last year =(..)...evanescence got a couple good songs, panic at the disco, queens of the stone age ( i love "no one knows" and "go with the flow")..Lacuna coil, Staind, Chevelle ( fav songs are "red", and "vitamin r", guns n roses, billy joel, incubus, the doors (fav song, people are strange) avenge sevenfold, the killers, stone temple pilots, foo fighters...theres this new artist name kerli i like her song "walking on air" for some reason,  shes weird but cool well this is what i can think of you probably heard of most of them or not hope you enjoy my selection

  10. Matt White try John Mayer or Jason Mraz

the other ones it's kinds hard and for Fall Out Boy try Paramore or Panic at the Disco...and even though i dont think its in the same lines but for system of a down try disturbed.

  11. ok

lthe libertines is the best band there-this is alternative/indie rock

try and listen to babyshambles, if  you are a fan of doherty or dirty pretty things if you are a fan of carl. also, the smiths who are a really really really good band better than the cure (in my opinion) and rlly influenced doherty/libertines during the late 90's.

you could also try the white stripes and the racounteurs for a bit of a different spin

good luck and i would listen to these bands-they are reallly good

  12. Blink 182.

  13. placebo, travis, bloc party, keiser chief, radiohead, etc....

    further details see www.nme.com

  14. chiodos, cobra starship, three days grace, thrice, 30 seconds to mars, senses fail, asteria

  15. My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, Lou Reed/Velvet Underground, Beatles, REM, The Pixies, Johnny Cash, Bo Bedingfield & The Wydelles, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, The Ramones, Tears for Fears - some of these i mention because of similar genres or sounds, others i mentioned because they are big influences/roots of the bands you listed.  The Velvet Underground is a good example of both for The Cure and NIN.  Tears for Fears, Ramones, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine have some things going on in the same vein.  (if you like the cure you will like tears for fears) Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath came way before Marylin Manson and are two great bands.  Bands like Nirvana and Offspring were influenced by the Ramones...  There is alot of overlapping but this should be some decent places to start.  As for the Wydelles, they are one of my favorite bands of the past couple years.

  16. the pretenders

    the doors

    gallows

    enter shakari

    the horrors

    joy division

    stiff little fingers

    subways

  17. my favourite is Blink 182 and 3 days  grace
