  1. well while I didn't find a direct answer to your question but here is something that might indirectly answer your question? 41 percent of prison inmates did not have a high school diploma or GED, 36 percent of their parents had not attained this educational level.

  2. work experience. many "educated" think that is enough. I believe in apprenticeships and internships. Show them the real world and give them some experience so they know what they can/can't do and can prove it.

A while ago in portugal i saw an add that required:

young person 25/35, graduates and with 10 yrs or near experience required. Considering that generally to be a graduate you have to have 20/21 yrs of age, you would've have to start work straight a way in your area and be there for 10 yrs and you would be 30 and have the remaining requirements.

    Educate employers as well.

  3. Easy.

    1. Make graduates job ready (work experience, job skills, job focused training).

    2. But also, educate for life, so general skills, how to learn, social skills etc.

    3. Provide assistance in finding work.

    4. Select people more carefully. A person who might do well at university might lack the social skills to even a job.

    5. The educated umemployed in a good thing. It benefits the economy because they can't find good work so they start businesses and develop their own ideas. (eg The irish from 1968 bankrupted their economy educated their population....the result is that now they have the highest standard of living in Europe....because people went abroad or started businesses)
