  1. At the top of the dietary tree are so-called "super foods" which include fruits, vegetables, pulses, and nuts... that boost the immune system, ward off cancer and heart disease and even slow down the aging process. Many of these superfoods also contain antioxidants that play an important role in defending the body against diseases and eliminating free radicals.

It is important to note that everything we consume is eventually absorbed into the blood, through the process of digestion. In addition to eating healthier foods it is also important to incorporate good digestive habits as an integral part of kidney health. For example, chewing your food properly and eating well in advance bedtime (3 to 4 hours before), will contribute to better digestion of food. A healthy diet together with good digestive practices will help to maintain a good quality of blood, tissues and organs (including the kidneys). On the other hand, if you consume foods which are unhealthy and toxic, digestion is affected, the blood becomes contaminated, and this puts a lot more strain on the kidneys and other organs.

  2. Sounds like you are in distress because of your kidney problems. I'm not sure what's causing this for you, but the most common causes of kidney failure are hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure and diabetes. Obviously this is serious, because if the kidneys cannot do their job, waste products and toxins accumulate in the blood.

The 3 causes of kidney failure mentioned above all have something in common. Recent scientific research reveals that people afflicted with such maladies generally have low levels of a molecule called glutathione. Glutathione is found in every one of the trillions of cells in your body. Some scientists say that it puts a shield of protection around the cells. In his landmark book, Glutathione--Your Body's Most Powerful Protector, Dr. J. Gutman, MD, FACEP, says: "Glutathione plays important roles in the prevention and treatment of renal failure."

My wife and I use a product called Immunocal to raise our glutathione levels. I have a serious liver disease. Use to fell like an 85 year old man. Now--I am doing GREAT! Check out our Web site to get more extensive information:

  3. I wish I could find my source but I can't right now. I read that pumpkin seeds are good for the kidney. I buy some for my mom whose kidneys have been impacted by diabetes. I don't know if they really help.

  4. Beetroot is supposed to help.
