Just came in posession of my uncles golf club set. It's a decent set..somethin i could learn on but they are left handed. Is there any way a pro shop could switch them to a right hand set or is that impossible?

  1. it's possible, but it's silly... you'd have to buy all new heads and just use the shafts and grips (which are probably worn anyway).

just sell them and buy correct ones.

  2. No

You can't change that set, as they are, to right handed

As another person said sell them or trade them in on a set of right handed clubs.

  3. Best thing to do is sell the left hander's set and purchase a right hander's set.  That is the only solution. Once cast or forged the club face cannot be changed. Satisfy yourself by going into a golf store and seeing the difference. It is a lot easier to understand than trying to explain the difference.

  4. Tricky question. Think of baseball and someone who is a switch-hitter (someone who can hit from both the right and left). Some golfers DO carry a mix of right and left handed golf clubs in their bag, but it is rare.

Here's the thing: It takes more than switching the shaft to the other side of the club head to make left handed golf clubs for lefties. Golf club manufacturers work hard to develop custom quality equipment for the left-handed golfer. This means that specific design and weighting goes into the design of left handed golf clubs. Remember, there are left handed golf clubs designed for men, women, and youth - so there is a science behind it.

I believe your best bet is to sell your uncle's clubs (unless there is a strong sentimental value to them) and use that money to buy a set of right-handed clubs that will suit you on eBay.

Take a look at the resource URL. You didn't mention the brand of clubs, but look at the awesome prices you can get on eBay for, example, Callaway golf clubs.

So, your uncle's clubs can still get you on the course - it will just take a little effort to sell the lefty clubs to get the ones you can use.

    Good luck ;-)
