Can you take Knitting Needles in your hand luggage?

Being an avid knitter, I was curious to see if taking knitting needles on as hand luggage on a plane was allowed. I'm flying in the USA.

  1. As long as the circular needles are shorter then 31 inches and they are made of bamboo or plastic. The TSA can take them though upon their discretion so pack another in your check-in baggage as well.Check out this link.


  2. Yep, I fly all the time and knit on the plane.  Any kind are ok, including the metal ones, which is what I use.
