  1. Yes you can take a cruise from Los Angeles, Calif on Holland America Cruise line.  There are two cruises leaving during 2008.  One is 28 days :  http://www.hollandamerica.com/dest/itine...

The other is 44 days:  http://www.hollandamerica.com/dest/itine...

But then how do you plan to get back home but to fly??

  2. The only way to do it, as already posted, is a re-positioning cruise or as a leg of a world cruise, where you only do part of the world cruise. Either way, it's a lot more expensive than flying.

  3. I took a cruise last year from Australia to Los Angeles. It was 29 days and was called a repositioning cruise. That is when a ship is done spending the season in one location, then goes to another location. The flight to Australia from Los Angeles was 14 & 1/2 hours long, but was really not bad at all. Quantas has a really good safety record and they just kept feeding us.

  4. Flying is the quickest and cheapest the cruise will take forever and its way too expensive by sea.If you are worried about safety then fly Quantas they have a perfect safety record (they havent lost a plane)

  5. Not from any place. There are cruises that operate back and forth from Australia and New Zealand, and some cities in southern asia also offer cruises. It really depends on the location from which you are departing.
