Can you take a Skateboard on American Airlines?

Im going to my Aunts house in Kentucky, its really fun there but i was just wandering if i could take regular Skateboard on an AA Plane.

You can take a skate board on any flight, I am almost positive, my boyfriend of 8 years brings his board everywhere with him. They have never given him a problem. Its not a weapon or a bomb so I am sure its fine.
