The name of the port of Rome is CIVITAVECCHIA.

The SNAV ship needs about 13h.

  2. Yes there are boats, but you can not make it as a day trip. Save Rome for another time when you have more then a few hours as there is too much to see to bother coming for a short time!

  3. You could, but it would take much too long for a daytrip (it's a long way!).  Train would be quicker, and also much cheaper.  Though I still think a daytrip would be ambitious, as it takes 11 hours.  Costs €58 on an Intercity train (the quickest kind for this route).

Why not visit some of the wonderful places in the south of Italy instead?

  4. If it's small enough to get it in the hold of an aeroplane on a Rome flight.
