I'm planning on getting a gecko soon and I was just wondering if you take them to a regular vet or is there a special reptile place? I never seen anything other than cats and dogs and birds at the vet so it crossed my mind. If you can take them what should you take them there for and what should I watch for?

  1. be sure to find a vet that sees them- be sure to talk to them before you get the gecko- my husband is a vet that sees reptiles and 90%  of the medical issues he sees are due to lack of proper care- housing, temp control, feeding etc.

you will have a healthier pet and less vet bills if you start off on the right foot

  2. you can call your local vet(s) and ask if they will see a gecko, you may need to find a vet that deals with exotic animals.  I don't really know what you would need to take a gecko for though unless it was sick.  They don't require annual vaccines like cats and dogs as far as I know, but I've never had a gecko, so I am not 100% positive.

  3. Contact the “herpetologicalsocieties.com“.for a reptile vet in your city and state
