I just went to the hairdressers and firstly the hairdresser didnt do what I asked for, then to make things even more of a joke what she did do she completely focked up! Arghhh im soo ruddy well mad!

Anyway the manager convieniently hasnt been there all day and i've been told they'll get her to call me back tomorrow.

If I dont get a refund or my hair sorted out for free can I take them to the small claims court?

Because I paid for a service from a so called professional and they didnt do what I asked and also phucked it right up?

  1. Yes you can and i hope you do so for messing your hair up and i hope you win your case

  2. As the lawyer said, sure you can. Go ahead, know your rights and speak up :) Good luck!

  3. You can, it's very simple.

The hairdresser provided a service under the Sale and Supply of goods and Services Act pursuant to a business.

Either you got what you paid for, or you did not.  If you didn't you are entitled to a refund (or maybe new hair)

PS: hairdressing is not a profession, it's a trade.

    .

  4. If you are not happy with your hair when it is done then you are entitled to refuse to pay. You won't get a refund as you have paid and in doing so must have been happy with the result.

  5. Anybody can file a suit.

Doubtful if you can win, unless she shaved your head.

Damages like "hurt feelings" are not compensatable by the Court.

  6. I thought you were after ideas for a ruddy date when I read that first line. haha. I think you have a good case, speak to a brief.

  7. Yes you can claim against the hairdresser Good luck

  8. Well, you can try but these things tend to fall through because the justice system is so slow, that by the time you get your day in court, the hair issue has resolved itself as it's grown out.

Small Claims Court only works if you had your hair dyed and ended up coming out in an awful rash / clumps of hair falling out / hospitalised due to a chemical reaction or if they gave you such a botched up haircut it would have been deemed to have drastically ruined your life.  Oh, and you need to get loads of colour pics to back up your claim!

Right now they know they've mucked up and are fobbing you off.  No doubt when the manager DOES get in, they'll have briefed her about you and she'll take the side of her staff.

Don't let the manager phone you, you want to be the one in control so you go to them.  If they don't take you seriously, say that "I plan to sit here all day, looking like this then". If your hair really is that bad, they won't want you there looking like a bad advert for their work (sorry but it's true!) and will refund you just to get rid.

    Good luck!

I used to be a hairdresser, luckily we never mucked up anyone's hair but if anyone came back not liking their hair, we'd discuss it and put it right - for free.
