ovulated on the 21st, and not due for AF till September 4th. but, having a very small amount of spotting (light pinkish- now browner) for three days now. the amount has stayed the same- not gotten heaver. It is sort-of see-through brownish on the TP. Definitely not AF now. can I take a HPT, or should I wait to see if it turns into AF?

  1. I'd wait just to be sure. Your body doesn't start making HCG until after implantation and you have to have a high enough level of HCG in your urine in order to get a positive pregnancy test. I know the wait sucks! I am in the same situation..... due this Friday (9/5) and can't wait to find out!

  2. IT WOULD BE BEST TO WAIT. WHEN U BECOME PREGNANT YOUR BODY PRODUCES THE HCG HORMONE THAT TELLS YOU BODY TO STOP RELEASING EGGS. WELL JUST ABOUT EVERY 2 TO 3 DAYS WHEN YOU BECOME PREGNANT THIS LEVEL WILL GO UP. SO I WOULD SAY TO WAIT A LITTLE LONGER TO MAKE SURE YOUR BODY HAS ENOUGH OF THIS HORMONE FOR A PT TO TEST POSITIVE

  3. That is possible. It really depends on how much of the pregnancy hormone you have in your blood at the time.

  4. Yes, yes..wait. Just a few days. Maybe even just one. See what happens with your body first. Or, give in and take one everyday like I did..lol

  5. I would wait a few more days.  Your body doubles hCG every 2 days.  If you test now you may not have enough hCG to detect.  Best of Luck! Baby Dust!

  6. Its usually a waste of time and money to test early, but i know when your really hopeful about becoming pregnant its hard to resist! I think it would probably be too soon. The longer you wait the more accurate your results will be. Most people don't get positives any earlier than 4-5 days before expected period. I personally didn't get a positive until the day after my expected period.

    best of luck to you!

  7. I'd say its still way too early.  I'd wait until my period is due.  Its normally about 14 days after ovulation that you can get an accurate result.
