My friend lives in sweden, he needs education and can't do it because his work interferes with his time where he wouldn't be able to take classes in sweden, also he's about 30 years old..

Would he be able to take online part time programs in places like Canada or the USA? That would be good in Sweden?

how do you think of his situation? D: ... he says that in sweden, u must be handsome and tall in order to get a very good job.

  1. Are there no universities in Sweden offering distance education or on-line degrees? Why would he consider the US or Canada when he would have to pay large international student fees to study. I would suggest for your friend to contact universities he is interested in and look at their options for their courses he is interested in. Is he not able to take night classes at university? Bachelors degrees in Canada and the US take 4 years full time study. The UK might be an option as it is only 3 years. He wouldn't also be paying large tution prices as he would be an EU student.

    Good luck

  2. All American and Canadian universities accept foreign students, so as long as he meets their entrance requirements regarding grades and etc., he'd be more than welcome to study with an American or Canadian university.

There are a lot of poorly reputed online programs out there, so when he's looking at online degrees, make sure he looks at the online degrees offered by reputable "brick and mortar" schools. So don't look at Devry, Strayer, Walden, Kaplian, AIU, U Phoenix, or anything like that. Instead, he can look at the quality online part time degree programs offered by such internationally respected universities as:

    - UMass Amherst

    - Rensselaer Polytechnic

    - Carnegie Mellon

    - U Maryland

    - Pennsylvania State U

    - Polytechnic University (Brooklyn)

    - Worcester Polytechnic

    - Rochester Institute of Technology

    - University of Denver

    - U Nebraska

These are all reputable universities that offer online degrees.

He'd need to check the validity of US degrees in Sweden, but US degrees tend to be *extremely* well respected internationally.

He can also do an online degree via many of the universities that are part of the University of London, in the UK, and those are also quite well respected.
